The vortex wake produced by a lift profile 3 is guided by the wake guide 8 to another lift profile 3. If the other lift profile 3 has opposite orientation, the vortex wakes tend to cancel each other, thus reducing induced drag and increasing efficiency.

摘要： The invention relates to a rotating wave energy machine provided for utilising an orbital flow of an undulating body of water, which circulates over at least one rotor that revolves in as synchronously a manner as possible. An output power is tapped at a rotor shaft, which power (in the power flow) is first converted by at least one lift device of the rotor. A cross-section of said lift device comprises at least one curve or angle that is shaped depending on a curve of a total flow. This entails a modification of the at least one angle or curve with regard to a cross-section optimised for a linear inflow, as per the prior art. When designing the at least one angle or the curve, the influence of the relative flow on the total flow is also taken into account, which relative flow is produced by the (desired) rotation of the rotor in the water (which is stationary from this viewpoint). When the rotating wave energy machine is operational, this relative flow is superposed on the circulating orbital flow that acts on the lift device from outside, and as a result a total flow is produced which - at any given instant - is curved about the rotor shaft.
