    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing heavy metals from the contaminated soil at a low cost by making effective use of electrical energy while restraining the erosion of an electrode.
SOLUTION: This contaminated soil decontaminating method is used for removing contaminants in the wet contaminated soil 11 by arranging electrodes 4, 5 in the soil 11 at the prescribed intervals and applying an electric current between the electrodes 4, 5. The waveform of the electric current to be applied is made to be a rectangular waveform, a sinusoidal waveform, a pulse waveform, a sawlike waveform or a triangular waveform. The current-integrated value in the positive period of the voltage of the applied electric current, which changes between the positive region and the negative region with time, is made equal to that in the negative period or the difference between them (the current- integrated value in the positive period minus that in the negative period) is made to be a positive value.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a wrong alarm by a signal detected by two or more detectors for monitoring a loose part in a reactor internal structure and to eliminate an alarm slippage. SOLUTION: This nuclear reactor structure monitoring device for judging the abnormality of the reactor internal structure by using detection signals of the detectors fixed to the circumferential wall of the reactor structure as input comprises a generation position estimation part 1 for estimating the generation position of the abnormality by using the detection signals of the detectors as inputs; a database 3 for reading the output of the generating position estimation part and the maneuvering state and operating state of a nuclear reactor and storing them in relation to each other; and a relevance evaluation part 2 for reading the signals detected by the detectors and the information for the maneuvering state and operating state of the reactor at that point of time, and evaluating the relevance of the signals detected by the detectors with the maneuvering state and operating state of the reactor in reference to the database, thereby judging whether the signals detected by the detectors are signals generated by a change in the maneuvering or operating state of the reactor or not.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rock fall and collapse monitor system which always monitors dangerous site by placing an optic fiber sensor at a tunnel or the dangerous site where rock fall or collapse may occur. SOLUTION: A stress measuring optic fiber 7 is placed along an inner wall of a tunnel, a symptom of a collapse is sensed by a degree of a stress applied to the optic fiber 7 due to a crack or the like, and an alarm is output. To do so, the rock fall and collapse monitor system comprises an alarm display 1 for displaying abnormal symptoms of rock fall, collapse, decay or the like sensed by the optic fiber 7, a communication device 9 for transmitting the monitor results to a road administration center 2, and a monitor device 8 connected to the above devices. The monitor device 8 includes a pulse signal generator 3 for sensing the stress applied to the optic fiber 7, a receiver 4 of generated pulses, and a calculator 5 for calculating the stress applied to the optic fiber 7 from the received pulse signal. Thus a dangerous site can be always monitored, thereby enabling prediction of a serious disaster in advance. In addition, a danger can be informed of the danger to passengers to prevent accidents.

    • PURPOSE:To perform the early discovery and regular monitoring of the steam leakage of a boiler and to estimate the leakage generating place thereof, by detecting the steam leakage from the change in the receiving level of a reflected microwave. CONSTITUTION:The reflected microwave 8 from a boiler 1 being an object to be monitored is received by an antenna 2 and amplified by an amplifier 4 through a microwave detector 3. The humidity of an atmosphere is measured by a humidity sensor 9 and an amplifying output level is corrected on the basis of the humidity value through a humidity correction part 10. Next, the corrected receiving output is compared with the memory pattern in a standard pattern part 11 by a pattern comparing part 12 and, when a different part is much in the receiving output as compared with the memory pattern, it is judged that steam leakage is generated to send out alarm output 13. Further, the antenna 2 is scanned horizontally and vertically by an antenna scanning control part 5 to obtain the receiving output from the whole surface of the boiler 1. A display device 7 displays the pattern corresponding to a monitor state and the intensity distribution of a microwave.
