    • A zoom lens structured so that a substantially constant amount of movement of a focusing lens group is required for focusing on objects at the same distance regardless of the zoom position even when an inner focusing method is implemented. The zoom lens includes in order from an object side, a first lens group which has a negative refractive power and a second lens group which has a positive refractive power, wherein zooming is executed by changing a distance between the first lens group and the second lens group, wherein the second lens group includes, in order from the object side, a front group which has a positive refractive power and a rear group which has a positive refractive power, and wherein focusing from an object at a far distance to an object at a close distance is executed by moving the front group towards an image side.

    • An anti-reflection plate for a display device, including a transparent substrate wherein, on one or both surfaces of the substrate, a flat first layer consisting of a transparent hardening agent containing a silicon-containing organic compound has been applied and dried and, on the first layer, a second layer consisting of a transparent hardening agent containing a silicon-containing compound has been spray coated and hardened to form an uneven surface having projections each having a height of 0.1 to 2.0 .mu.m in height, a diameter of 10 to 100 .mu.m and a height/diameter ratio of 1/30 to 1/500 can effectively prevent reflection of external light on a screen of a display device without deteriorating the resolution of an image on the screen.

    • Disclosed are optical materials which effectively absorb UV light up to the long wavelength band, have low specific gravity, and have balanced properties including impact and heat resistances; lenses; and optical material compositions as their starting materials. The composition contains a polymerizable monomer material consisting of at least one di(meth)acrylate of formula (1): (R: CH3 etc., Ph: a phenylene group; x, z: an integer of 1 to 5; y: 0 or 1) and at least one monomer (M) having at least one vinyl group in one molecule other than monomers of formula (1), and an additive selected from component (A1), (A2), or (B), or mixtures thereof, provided that components (A1) and/or (B) is contained, and when component (B) is contained, components (A1) and/or (A2) is also contained: (A1): a chlorinated benzotriazole UV absorber; (A2): a chlorine-free benzotriazole UV absorber; (B): a coloring agent having absorption maximum in 520-650 nm.
