    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove electric noises generated due to friction between a brush and a commutator with a simple configuration in a motor with a brush. SOLUTION: The motor 10 with the brush is provided with the brush 26 having an end contacting the commutator 20, and a brush holder 28 consisting of an insulating material and housing the brush 26 so that the brush can move for the commutator 20. The motor 10 is provided with a positive electrode 36 provided on the internal surface of the brush holder 28 and having conductivity, and a negative electrode 34 provided on the external surface of the brush holder 28 and having conductivity. In this motor, the brush holder 28 provided between the positive electrode 36 and the negative electrode 34 is used as a capacitor for removing electric noises to be generated between the brush 26 and the commutator 20.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an area in where a permanent magnet faces an armature coil in a motor with proper responsiveness. SOLUTION: When an armature assembly 40 rotates in the left-hand direction (counterclockwise direction), a threadable mount between a female thread 64a of a female thread bearing member 64 and a male thread 50c is loosened, and friction between the threads is reduced, since the male thread 50c screwed to the female thread bearing member 64 rotates in the left-hand direction. The female thread bearing member 64 is held statically in an annular recess 62a in a bearing metal 62. Rotational movement is converted into linear movement, by screwing the female thread 64a and the male thread 50c. As a result, the armature assembly 40 moves in the right direction (Xb-direction) in parallel and the relative position between the armature coil 54 and the permanent magnet 30 is shifted, and the area in which the permanent magnet 30 faces the armature coil 54 is reduced and the region of effective magnetic field flux from the permanent magnet 30 is reduced. The outer circumference of the core 62 is held noncontactly on the inner circumference of the yoke 40 by a pair of the elastic members 80, and the core 62 is supported in a floating state. SOLUTION: An ECU40 measures the temperature of an electric motor 20 after switching on an ignition switch, thereby detecting the temperature of a speed reducing mechanism 30 part. When the detected temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature, so as not to rotate a steering wheel 11, a coil of the electric motor 20 is energized by a positive/negative current of a short period to raise the temperature of the electric motor 20. The temperature rise of the electric motor 20 is transmitted to the speed reducing mechanism 30 to warm the speed reducing mechanism 30, and properly keep the backlash of a worm gear in the speed reducing mechanism 30 regardless of temperature. On the basis of steering torque and vehicular speed detected by a steering torque sensor 41 and a vehicular speed sensor 42, energization of the coil of the electric motor is stopped during the steering operation of the steering wheel and during traveling of a vehicle.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor allowing a permanent magnet to be easily assembled to a holder. SOLUTION: A rotor 50 includes a rotating shaft 52, a cylindrically shaped rotating shaft 54 integrally engaged and firmly secured to the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 52, magnet holders 55 firmly secured to an outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft 54, and permanent magnets 56 retained to the magnet holders 55. In a process to insert an insertion part 54a of the rotating shaft 54 into the magnet holders 55, the outer periphery of the insertion 54a of the rotating shaft 54 also slide contacts with the inner periphery of the magnet holders 55 and an inner periphery 56b of the permanent magnets 56. Consequently, for the permanent magnet 56, the inner peripheries 56b are pressed outwardly in a radial direction, and edges 56a at both sides abut against abutting surfaces 55g of the magnet holders 55, and thus protrusions 55h provided at the abutting surfaces 55g are elastically deformed.
