    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water overflow preventing device which automatically actuates a water overflow preventing function when the water level of a river is raised, without disturbing the use of the river by people when the water level stays low.
      SOLUTION: In a river bank or the like, a float, a support attached to the float for guiding the float in the vertical direction and a waterproofing film with one side connected to the float and the other opposite side fixed to a wall surface forming an accommodation space to expand/shrink through the vertical movement of the float, are accommodated in the accommodating space formed below the top end intended to prevent the water overflow. In the accommodating space, a water introduction hole for introducing water from outside is communicated, and the waterproofing film extended by the raise of the float blocks the flooding exceeding the top end.
