      SOLUTION: The double pipe type steel pipe pile for vibration isolation includes the inner pipe 1 provided with a closed-end cylindrical cover 4 into which the lower end of the outer pipe 2 is fitted in the vicinity of the lower end thereof, the outer tube 2 whose lower end is fitted into the closed-end cylindrical cover 4 and which is positioned concentric with the inner tube 1, and a cylindrical part 5 fitted into a space of the upper end formed by the inner pipe 1 and the outer pipe 2 and having a ring 6, contacting with the upper surface of the outer pipe 2 on the outer peripheral surface, and comprises the cap 3 for covering the upper surface of the inner pipe 1. The inner pipe 1 is rotation-transmittably fitted to the cap 3, and the outer pipe 2 is rotation-transmittably fitted to the inner pipe 1.

Thus a slime sensor 31 is arranged at a slime presence checking location in an intermediate widened portion 21A or 21B, or a widened bottom portion 23 of the pile hole 20, and subsequently presence/absence of the slime is checked by the slime sensor 31. In this manner since the lowering amount of the kelly-bar 12, and the moving amount of the side wall plates 30 are controlled, the slime sensor 31 can be arranged at the arbitrary location in the intermediate widened portion 21A or 21B or the widened bottom portion 23 in the pile hole 20, to thereby check whether the slime S is present or absent at the location.
