    • An X-ray imaging apparatus comprises an X-ray emission unit for emitting X-rays onto a human body under examination, an X-ray emission control unit for outputting an X-ray emission signal to direct the X-ray emission unit to emit X-rays, a flat panel X-ray detector having a two-dimensional array of detector elements in rows (lines) and columns, each of the detector elements converting incident X-rays passed through the human body under examination into an electric charge signal and storing it, a resetting unit for placing each line of the detector elements in the readout state in sequence, thereby discharging electric charge stored on each of the detector elements, a storage unit for placing all the lines of the detector elements in the readout state to thereby allow each of the detector elements to store an electric charge signal, and a readout unit for placing each line of the detector elements in the readout state in sequence to thereby read an electric charge signal from each of the detector elements.

    • A diagnostic X-ray apparatus includes an X-ray tube, an image intensifier for converting an X-ray image of an object under examination to an optical image, a solid state image sensor device for detecting the optical images produced by the image intensifier and converting the optical means into a series of video signals, a CCD driver generating field shift pulses for driving the solid state image sensor device at a predetermined rate, pulse width determining means for determining a pulse width of the X-ray pulses, and X-ray control means for controlling an emission period and timing of the X-ray pulse emitted from the X-ray tube. In the case that the solid state image sensor device performs interlaced scanning in a field storage mode, commencing with the second frame when the field shift pulse is generated by the CCD driver, the X-ray pulse continues to be emitted from the X-ray tube for a half of the pulse width determined by the pulse width determining means in the first frame. In case that the solid state image sensor device performs interlaced scanning in a frame storage mode, X-ray pulses having a pulse width determined by the pulse width determining means are emitted in the same field of each frame.

    • When “fluoroscopy” is specified, a little amount of X rays are irradiated successively, and an X-ray image is reflected from rotating mirrors to enter a fluoroscopic camera head provided with FTCCD. The FTCCD can obtain a fluoroscopic image as a moving picture because successive imaging is possible in a frame rate. Moreover, when “radiography” is specified, great amounts of X rays are irradiated at one shot, and an X-ray image is reflected from the rotating mirrors to enter a radiographic camera head provided with FFTCCD. The FFTCCD is provided with pixels with large pixel size whose number is increased, and thus a high-definition radiographic image as a still picture can be obtained without using an X-ray film.
