摘要： A drilling apparatus, in which a hole and an insertion hole for a drilling rod are formed at a drilling position of a table and at a sheet pressing member capable of approaching or leaving a surface of the table, respectively, the drilling rod made of metal, capable of rotating at high speeds and reciprocating vertically are inserted through the both holes, the drilling rod has smooth peripheral and front end faces composed of at least part of a circular section having no blade, and a predetermined clearance is provided between the diameters of the hole and the insertion hole and the diameter of the drilling rod, whereby by pressing the drilling rod rotating at high speeds to the sheet, a sheet material is melted by frictional heat so that a beautiful hole is formed.

摘要： A method of stacking a multiplicity of fabric strips attached with a slide fastener chain one upon another is disclosed, which comprises folding each of the strips in halves along the longitudinal axis of the fastener chain, clamping the fabric strip from both sides closely at its folded edge, cutting the trailing end of the fabric strip and depositing the thus cut fabric strip upon and in registry with a stack of previously accumulated fabric strips. An apparatus is also disclosed for carrying this method into practice, which essentially comprises a gate means having a guide slit through which a slide fastener chain is passed, a gripper means releasably gripping a leading end of the fastener chain, and a clamping means releasably clamping the fabric strip from both sides closely adjacent at the fastener chain.

摘要： In a method and apparatus for applying a protective strip by sewing to an end of a slide fastener, a continuous protective strip is fed downwardly toward a tape supply position on the base of a sewing machine with its one surface facing opposite to a direction of feed of a slide fastener until a leading end portion of the protective tape overlays the base by a predetermined length, then the leading end portion is bent in a direction opposite to the fastener feed direction by a stream of pressurized air issued from an air nozzle, thereafter, a slide fastener is advanced along the base until its leading end reaches to a sewing position located downstream of the tape supply position, thereby causing the leading end portion of the protective tape to bend into a U-shape extending from the back to the face of the slide fastener around the leading end thereof, then the U-shaped leading end portion is cut from the continuous protective tape, thereby forming a U-shaped protective strip which in turn is sewn to the leading end of the slide fastener.

摘要： An apparatus for cutting off lengths of slide fasteners from a continuous chain thereof includes a cutting punch coactive with an anvil, there being feed rolls disposed in the path of movement of the fastener chain upstream from the cutting punch, and a pair of delivery rolls in such path downstream of the cutting punch. The upper delivery roll is arranged to reciprocate with the cutting punch and to engage the chain before the cutting punch does, and to continue to engage the chain until the cutting punch has been slightly retracted. Such retraction of the delivery roll facilitates feeding of the chain even though the leading end may be slightly curled.

Then, a rod actuated by a pressure cylinder is towed to rotate a rear portion of the support body about a pin as a pivot provided at a front end portion of the support body, so that one corner portion of a leading end portion of the fly is trimmed into an arcuate shape by a cutter and at the same time, the arcuately trimmed edge portion is serged by a needle. According to the apparatus, therefore, the one corner portion of the leading end of the fly can be trimmed into a uniform arcuate shape.

摘要： A cloth pick-up apparatus is used which comprises pressing mechanism for a pressing one end of the top cloth piece from the upper side, a catch roller having on a part of its circumferential surface catch needles and movable toward and away from the other end of the top cloth piece, the catch roller being adapted to be driven for rotation to feed the top cloth piece in a direction remote from the pressing mechanism, a feed roller rotatable in timed relation with the catch roller, and a pressure roller movable toward and away from a cloth-piece-feed surface of the feed roller and rotatable in cooperation with the feed roller. The catch roller is rotated touching one end of front face of the cloth pieces with the other end of the cloth piece pressed by the pressing roller so that the upper most cloth piece is caught by the catch needles and, at the same time, is raised. Then the cloth pieces are fed one by one to the next station as the individual cloth piece is clamped between the feed surfaces of the feed roller in driven rotation and the pressure roller.
