摘要： A low-molecular (meth)acrylic acid (salt)-based polymer having a good color tone is obtained by polymerizing an aqueous solution of at least one monomer component of a high concentration in the presence of an alkaline substance, wherein: 100 to 95 mol % of the at least one monomer component is a monoethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (salt) monomer (a) having 3 to 6 carbon atoms; and 0 to 5 mol % of the at least one monomer component is a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer (b) copolymerizable with the monomer (a) (wherein the total of (a) and (b) is 100 mol % ); and wherein: a persulfate salt and hydrogen peroxide are used together as polymerization catalysts; and the entirety of the alkaline substance as used is set not to be more than 99 mol % of the amount which is necessary for neutralizing all acid groups of the at least one monomer component; and wherein: the dropwise addition of the hydrogen peroxide is completed at the latest 10 minutes earlier than the completion time of the dropwise addition of the at least one monomer component; and/or the amount of the hydrogen peroxide as added till the initiation of the dropwise addition of the at least one monomer component is kept from exceeding 10% of the entirety of the hydrogen peroxide as added. The resultant polymer is useful for such as detergent compositions and water-treating agents.

摘要： The present invention provides a detergent and fabric care additive containing a high molecular weight carboxylic acid polymer excellent in solubility in the use of a fabric treatment product such as a detergent and fabric care additive. A detergent and fabric care additive containing a carboxylic acid polymer powder, wherein the carboxylic acid polymer powder satisfies the following conditions (a) and (b) [(a) at least one of conditions that a 0.2% by weight aqueous solution has a viscosity of 10 mPa·s or higher and that a 1% by weight aqueous solution has pH lower than 6 and a 10% by weight aqueous solution has a viscosity of 300 mPa·s or higher and (b) at least one of conditions that 50% by weight or more of the carboxylic acid polymer powder passes through 20 mesh of a sieve according to JIS (Z8801) and that the average particle diameter is 600 μm or smaller]. 摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide: a water-soluble polymer which can exercise a high calcium-ion-binding ability and a high clay dispersibility even under circumstances where high-hardness water is used; and a process for producing such a water-soluble polymer with ease and good productivity. As a means of achieving this object, the water-soluble polymer according to the present invention has: (1) a calcium-ion-binding ability of not less than 470 mgCaCO3/g and further a clay dispersibility of not less than 0.90 in a test liquid having a calcium concentration of 50 ppm in terms of calcium carbonate; or (2) a calcium-ion-binding ability of not less than 430 mgCaCO3/g and further a clay dispersibility of not less than 0.70 in a test liquid having a calcium concentration of 100 ppm in terms of calcium carbonate.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a polyalkylenimine-derived polymer and its production process and uses, wherein the polyalkylenimine-derived polymer can efficiently disperse such as liquid (particularly, water-soluble) dirt and dyes and can exercise excellent performances in uses for such as detergents and water-treating agents. As a means of achieving this object, a polyalkylenimine-derived polymer according to the present invention is an addition product of a carboxyalkyl group to a polyalkylenimine chain and is in the range of 30,000 to 5,000,000 in weight-average molecular weight. In addition, a process according to the present invention for production of a polyalkylenimine-derived polymer comprises a step of causing a polyalkylenimine of 20,000 to 1,000,000 in weight-average molecular weight and an unsaturated carboxylic acid to react together wherein the reaction is carried out under conditions where its reaction concentration is in the range of from 5 weight % up to an X value (weight %) determined by the following equation: X value (weight %)=34−(ratio (mol %) of unsaturated carboxylic acid (mols) to be caused to react relative to all amino groups (mols) of polyalkylenimine chain)/5.

The specific water-soluble polymer, according to the present invention, has a calcium ion scavengeability of not less than 0.40 and further has a clay dispersibility of not less than 0.50 in high-hardness water and, preferably, includes polymers A and B as essential components wherein the polymer A has a calcium ion scavengeability of not less than 0.45 and wherein the polymer B has a clay dispersibility of not less than 0.65 in high-hardness water. The detergent composition comprising this water-soluble polymer has a good detergency even in high-hardness water.
