    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotating electric machine and a rotating electric machine which are capable of reducing costs and securing a creepage distance.SOLUTION: A stator 11 includes a stator core 110, a stator winding 111, and an insulating paper 112. With respect to the stator winding 111, conductor segments 111a are respectively inserted into slots from a lower end side of the stator core 110, and their front ends projecting at an upper end side are joined to constitute respective phase windings, and the phase windings are Y-connected to constitute the stator winding 111. The insulating paper 112 is disposed between junction portions adjacent to each other in a radial direction among junction portions 111k-111o constituting a junction group closest to a U-phase terminal. The same is true for a V-phase winding and a W-phase winding. Surfaces of the other junction parts are respectively covered with insulating resins 113. The insulating paper 112 is disposed between junction parts requiring a long creepage distance but the other junction parts not requiring a long creepage distance have surfaces covered with the insulating resin 113. Therefore, a configuration is simplified to reduce a cost and a required creepage distance can be secured.
