    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sharing torque of each part of an automatic transmission, reduce size of each part, and capacity of each friction engaging element by transmitting output rotation of an engine to a planetary gear for increasing speed through a start clutch, transmitting it to an input shaft by increasing speed, and shifting gear for rotation of the input shaft by a single planetary gear and a double planetary gear.
      SOLUTION: A driving member to which output rotation of the engine is transmitted when a vehicle starts is connected with a carrier of the planetary gear for increasing speed through the start clutch. When the start clutch is engaged, speed of rotation of the driving member is increased by the planetary gear for increasing speed and its rotation is transmitted to the input shaft connected directly with a ring gear. Gear for rotation transmitted to the input shaft is shifted to a plurality of gear stages to transmit rotation of an output shaft by connecting or fixing each element of the single planetary gear and the double planetary gear connected with the output shaft by a plurality of friction engaging elements selectively.
