      SOLUTION: The well plate improved in inspection efficiency can be constituted by providing a plurality of wells with a diameter of 1-500 μm and a depth of 1-300 μm on the surface of a substrate made of glass or a resin at an interval of 10-300 μm. A cover plate placing surface higher than a well-formed surface is formed in the periphery of the group of the wells and a cover plate is placed on the cover plate placing surface so as to cover the group of the wells to prevent the drying of the culture medium or the inspection target. If a metal film is formed on the inner surface of each of the wells and an alkanethiol film is formed on the metal film, the inspection target can be easily put in each of the wells.
