    • A shaft sealing assembly for static and dynamic sealing includes a stator member attached to a housing and a rotor member attached to a shaft rotatable about an axis. The rotor member includes first and second pocket sections extending from upper and lower radial flanges extending in a cantilevered fashion from a tubular member. At least one static sealing member is attached to and encapsulates each pocket section. Each static sealing member presents a core portion and a pair of radial lips extending from the core portion. The stator member presents an annular wall extending to inner walls inclined conically to a central radial rim or flange separating two pocket portions and the static sealing members presenting a contact and frictionally engaging with the central radial rim as the rotor member is at a stand-still or static position.

    • A seal assembly includes an annular sealing lip extending about a central axis and sealingly engageable with a shaft. An annular elastomeric base is disposed generally coaxially about and connected with the lip and has two opposing axial sides and an outer circumferential surface contactable with a housing inner circumferential surface. An expander device includes first and second clamp members, each disposed against a separate base inner portion axial side, and one or more couplers having an end coupled with a portion of the first clamp member and another end coupled with a portion of the second clamp member. Each coupler is configured to displace each connected clamp member portion generally axially toward the other clamp member portion to compress an inner portion of the base to displace an outer portion of the base generally radially outwardly such that the base outer surface sealingly engages the housing inner surface.

    • A seal assembly for sealing a space between a housing and a rotary shaft includes a generally annular sealing member having a central axis and inner and outer circumferential surfaces extending about the axis, at least a portion of the inner surface providing a sealing surface engageable with the shaft outer surface so as to define a seal interface with opposing axial ends. The sealing surface is configured to direct substances entering the interface toward at least one of the axial ends. Further, an annular biasing member is disposed about the sealing member outer surface and configured to exert a radially-inwardly directed force on the sealing member so as to generate contact pressure within the seal interface. The biasing member is arranged on the sealing member such that at least a portion of the biasing member extends axially in general alignment with at least a portion of the sealing surface.
