    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control device for a six-speed type automatic transmission which is enabled to perform a fail-safe process even during the trouble of wire severance without improving an ECU or adding a fail-safe valve.
      SOLUTION: A second on/off-solenoid valve S2 of a normal low type controls a spool position of a fourth shift valve 26. When disconnection occurs during energizing the second on/off-solenoid valve S2, a fourth on/off-solenoid valve S4 of a normal high type and a shuttle valve SB maintain the spool position of the fourth shift valve 26 before disconnection. The shuttle valve SB inputs the signal pressure of the second on/off-solenoid valve S2 and the fourth on/off-solenoid valve S4 and supplies one or both signal pressure to the fourth shift valve 26. The fourth on/off-solenoid valve S4 is controlled to be reversely synchronized with the energizing control of the second on/off-solenoid valve S2.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate a troublesome switch operation by computing an engine output reducing speed from an engine output detecting signal to control a retarder, in the case of a vehicle absorbing a reverse driving force from wheel side by means of a retarder provided on an engine, etc., to apply braking action. CONSTITUTION:When an exhaust brake 7, including an exhaust brake valve 8, provided in mid course of an exhaust pipe 10 is used for retarding device, the signal of throttle pedal 5 returning speed is given from a speed computing element 12 into which a signal is input from a throttle opening sensor 11. An opening instruction signal to the exhaust brake valve 8 corresponding to the returning speed signal is output from exhaust brake valve controlling computing elements 13 and 14 with different conversion rate to the returning speed signal. Each of computing elements 13, 14 is selected by switches 16 and 17 to be switched over by the output of a comparator 15 for comparing a throttle opening value with a specified value. When a switch 20 is turned on without depressing a foot brake, the exhaust brake valve 8 is controlled by the output of the computing elements 13 or 14.
