    • A microfluidic device for sample analysis is described. The microfluidic device comprises one or more inlets (6, 7) adapted for supplying fluid sample and mobile phase to the microfluidic device, a column (2) adapted for trapping a fluid sample during a sample loading phase, and for separating components of the fluid sample during a sample analysis phase, a waste outlet (8), and a detection unit adapted for detecting the components of the fluid sample.
