    • PURPOSE: A structure for a side sill of a vehicle is provided to maximally decrease and disperse impact energy in a broadside collision of the vehicle and accordingly to minimize injuries of passengers by minimizing the strain of the vehicle body and related parts. CONSTITUTION: A side sill of a vehicle is composed of inner and outer panels(100,200) combined to form a closed section at a predetermined interval; an inner panel reinforcing member(110) combined to the inner panel between the inner and outer panels; and an outer panel reinforcing member(210) combined to the outer panel. A structure for the side sill comprises a plurality of first side members(300) combined to the inner panel; a second side member(400) opposed to the first side member and combined to the outer panel reinforcing member; and a shock absorbing cylinder(500) combined between first and second side members to elastically absorb shock applied from the outside to the outer panel.
