    • PURPOSE: A system and method for removing ultra-fine ions are provided to prevent the life of an electrode from being shortened due to the absorption of other ions except for metal ions. CONSTITUTION: A system for removing ultra-fine ions includes a composite electrode. The composite electrode is composed of a metal electrode(10) and a carbon layer(11). The carbon layer is integrally formed on one side or both sides of the metal electrode. The intensity of voltages applied to the composite electrode is gradually adjusted to alternately implement an absorbing process, a reducing process, and a deintercalation process with respect to metal ions dissolved in a solution. The metal ions are selectively eliminated. The carbon layer is based on a porous carbon member with the specific surface area of 500 to 3000m^2/g.
