    • PURPOSE: A light emitting diode backlight unit and a driving method thereof are provided to improve the degree of integration by selectively supplying a constant current to a plurality of light emitting diodes through a switching unit. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting diode back light unit(150) comprises a plurality of LED arrays. An operation unit(230) creates a modulation reference voltage and a switching signal. A comparator outputs an output voltage by comparing a sampling voltage with the modulation reference voltage. A first switching unit(240) successively transfers the output voltage according to the switching signal. A plurality of transistors successively controls a driving current of the plurality of LED arrays according to the output voltage.

    • An apparatus and method for driving data of liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce EMI and power consumption due to a data driver peak current by controlling a slew rate of the data output differently and distributing output timing. In an apparatus and method for driving data of liquid crystal display device, a shift register(8) shits a source start pulse of a timing controller(2) according to source shift clock for one horizontal period. A first latch unit(9) successively latches data of the timing controller in response to the sampling signal of the shift register. A second latch unit(10) latches the latched data in parallel at the rising time of the source output enable signal of the first latch part, it latches parallel. A DAC(11) converts digital data of the second latch unit into the analog data signal. An output buffer unit(12) outputs data signal of DAC in response to the falling time of the source output enable signal to the data line(DL). A data line(DL) is divided to a plurality of data blocks. The output buffer unit differently sets up the slew rate of data output as data block unit in response to the control of the slew rate control part(6).
