    • PURPOSE: A method and a device of encoding/decoding for performing prediction which is necessary for encoding/decoding multi view image are provided to encode and decode prediction by using inter-view prediction only for pictures included in a multi view image sequence. CONSTITUTION: Whether pictures respectively included in a sequence of a multi-view image is a reference picture which is referenced by other picture included in the sequence for inter-view prediction or not is determined(610). The pictures area encoded by using at least one among the inter-view prediction and temporal prediction based on the determination(620). A parameter about each of the pictures is encoded. The parameter is a NAL unit header about each pictures.

    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for converting a bit plane image, and a method and an apparatus for inversely converting a bit plane image are provided to increase correlation between adjacent pixels of a lower bit plane image during an image compressing process, thereby improving compression efficiency of the image. CONSTITUTION: A method for converting a bit plane image comprises the following steps. An input image is divided into n bit plane images(1010). n is a positive integer. a adjacent pixels in one direction between a column direction and a row direction are grouped to generate conversion processing units(1020). a is an integer larger than 1. Respective pixel values from a starting pixel to the bth pixel among a pixels in the conversion processing unit about each conversion processing unit are accumulated in the first direction selected between a plus direction and a minus direction. b is an integer smaller than a. Respective pixel values from the (b+1)th pixel to the final pixel in the conversion processing unit are accumulated in the second direction reverse to the first direction to convert pixel values of respective pixels in the conversion processing unit(1030).

    • A method and an apparatus for encoding and decoding multi-view images by using a global disparity vector are provided to encode the multi-view images by using block information of blocks adjacent to a corresponding block and a block corresponding to a current block of a view different from a view of a current picture, thereby encoding the multi-view images in consideration of individual disparity of objects and the inter-view global disparity. A multi-view image encoding method comprises the following steps. Based on a vector indicating global disparity between a current picture including a current block and a picture of a view different from a view of the current picture, a block corresponding to the current block is selected in the picture of the other view(810). Based on the selected block and one block information among blocks adjacent to the selected block, the current block is encoded(820). The block information includes at least one of a prediction mode, a motion vector and a reference index used for encoding of the selected block and one of the blocks adjacent to the selected block.
