摘要： PURPOSE: A key frame extracting apparatus, method thereof, broadcasting recording apparatus, and method thereof are provided to efficiently extract a key frame and save the storing space of a broadcasting signal without decoding MPEG-2 stream. CONSTITUTION: A stream information analyzer(110) extracts information about a frame from video stream. A key frame extractor(120) determines a key frame by using frame information. If the number of intra macro blocks is greater than third threshold value, the key frame extractor determines the key frame as a key frame. The key frame extractor calculates the number of skip macro blocks by using CBP(Coded Block Pattern).

摘要： A halftone image encoding and decoding method and an apparatus thereof are provided to compress and restore a halftone image efficiently without the loss by selecting a template which is adaptable to the pattern characteristics of the halftone image. According to characteristics of a halftone image, a template information encoder(310) determines shapes of different templates and encodes the shape information of each template. A template modeling unit(312) determines the shapes of the different templates which is preset correspondingly to each color channel of the halftone image. A template decomposition unit(314) extracts a relative location information between pixels comprising the shape of each template, and then generates a symbol for encoding the relative location information. A template bit generating unit(316) converts the symbol into bits.
