    • An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to improve the shape of an incised portion in a pixel electrode, thereby securing a multiple slant angle at a domain of four directions. An LCD includes a lower substrate(100). An upper substrate(200) is located oppositely to the lower substrate. A liquid crystal layer(300) is aligned between the two display substrates. In the lower substrate, a polarizer(11) is formed at the lower portion of an insulating substrate(101). Plural gate lines(102) are formed on the upper portion of the insulating substrate and connected with a gate driving circuit for applying the gate signal. A gate insulating layer(103) is formed on the upper portion of the gate line and made of silicon nitride. A line shape semiconductor(104) made of hydrogenated amorphous silicon or polycrystalline silicon and the like is formed on the upper portion of the gate insulating layer. Source and drain electrodes(106,107) are combined with the upper portion of the line shape semiconductor by an ohmic contact member(105).

    • A display panel and a display device having the same are provided to enable a liquid crystal layer interposed between a first substrate and a second substrate to be operated in one of a vertical mode, a horizontal mode, and an inclination mode, thereby realizing a wide viewing angle black image, a narrow viewing angle black image, and a narrow viewing angle white image. A display panel(100) comprises a first substrate(110), a second substrate(120) and a liquid crystal layer(130). The first substrate has a first pixel electrode(112) and a second pixel electrode(114). A first voltage is applied to the first pixel electrode, and a second voltage is applied to the second pixel electrode. The second substrate is disposed to face the first substrate and has a common electrode to which a third voltage is applied. The liquid crystal layer is composed of liquid crystal interposed between the first and second substrates, and is operated in one of a horizontal mode, a vertical mode, and an inclination mode. The liquid crystal is disposed in parallel with one of a first polarizing axis(210) and a second polarizing axis(310) in the horizontal mode. The liquid crystal is vertically disposed for the first substrate in the vertical mode. The liquid crystal is disposed between the first and second polarizing axes in the inclination mode.

    • PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to control movement of liquid crystal molecules in each area of a pattern electrode according to the strength of an applied horizontal electric field, thereby controlling a gray scale of a memory mode in each area. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a first glass boar(100), a lower electrode(200), a dielectric layer(300), and a pattern electrode(400). The lower electrode and the dielectric layer are successively deposited on the first glass board. A light emitting unit and a light shielding unit are formed by etching a pattern electrode film deposited on the dielectric layer in the pattern electrode. Each area of the pattern electrode has a different width.
