    • PURPOSE: A method for converting wavelength and a wavelength conversion laser, and a method for processing a laser beam are provided to stably perform regular processing regardless of polarizing direction by emitting laser beams different in wavelength direction in a range of 45 to 90 degrees. CONSTITUTION: A wavelength converting laser converts wavelength of a basic laser beam(3) by using non-linear optical crystals by emitting the basic laser beam in single direction. A basic laser light source(2) emits the randomly polarized basic laser beam(3C). Two non-linear optical crystals(1A,1B) are arranged in serial to align crystal orientation axes of the crystals in the same direction or 180-degree opposite direction. A polarizing direction rotating element is arranged between the two crystals for rotating polarizing direction of the wavelength converted laser beam at 45 to 90 degrees. The randomly polarized basic laser beam sequentially transmits the two non-linear optical crystals for emitting wavelength converted laser beams having the different polarizing direction.

    • A wavelength tunable laser device is provided to reducing the axial deviation of the wavelength-converted laser beam converted by a wavelength conversion crystal and emitted through an output-window when the position of the wavelength conversion crystal is moved. A wavelength tunable laser device includes a wavelength conversion crystal(14) and a case. The wavelength conversion crystal(14) is housed with the case. The case is provided with an output-window for emission of a wavelength-converted laser beam having a wavelength converted by the wavelength conversion crystal. The output facet of the wavelength conversion crystal(14) is inclined at Brewster's angle with respect to the wavelength-converted laser beam. The output-window of the case has a prism form in which the distance between a laser beam input facet and the laser beam output facet is reduced along a slope direction of the wavelength-converted laser beam emitted from the wavelength conversion crystal.
