    • PURPOSE: A root-specific expression promoter for expressing a foreign gene in root is provided to minutely control expression site only in root. CONSTITUTION: A root-specific promoter(PAtRA166) comprises a gene sequence of the sequence number 1(SEQ ID NO:1). The root-specific promoter is a promoter relating to transcription of gene which is isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana and of which function is not identified. The RA166 promoter region of Arabidopsis thaliana is 1,926bp upstream of gene coding site. A primer for amplifying the root-specific promoter comprises oligonucleotides of sequence numbers 2 and 3. An expression vector pBGWFS7-PAtRA166(KACC 95080P) comprises a gene sequence of the sequence number 1. The expression vector additionally comprises Bar which is herbicide resistant gene and a reporter gene Egfp:gus.

    • A method for changing the plant morphology is provided to modify the size of plant body, leaf shape and color, and seed size using a BrSRS gene. A method for changing plant morphology is changing plant shape by regulating the polypeptide level in cell. The regulating polypeptide level in cell is increasing the polynucleotide expression coding the polypeptide. The polynucleotide has base of the sequence number 3. The plant is chinese cabbage, sauerkraut, brassica juncea Cosson, brassica campestris, Brassica napobrassica, Brassica rapa, Brassica napus, Brassica oleracea, Brassica caulorapa, Brassica fimbriata, Brassica ruvo, Brassica septi-ceps, Brassica nigra, Cochlearia officinalis, Armoracia lapathifolia, Descurainia pinnata, and Aubrieta deltoidea.
