    • PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery and its preparation method are provided, to improve cycle lifetime and to obtain a high capacity by preventing the mechanical breakage of an active material. CONSTITUTION: The negative electrode active material comprises a composite comprising a Si phase fine particle and an oxide surrounding the Si phase particle; and a carbon material. Preferably the oxide comprises a material selected from the group consisting of Al, Ti, Zr, Nb, Cr, Fe, Li, Mn, Ni, Co, Sn, V, In, Cr, Y, Ge, Ta, Mg, Ca, Mo, Sb, Ti, Zr, P, B, N and their mixture. Preferably the surface of the negative electrode active material is modified by coating a low crystalline or amorphous carbon material. The method comprises the steps of mixing a silicon oxide and a material having an abstract value of oxide formation enthalpy (ΔH_for) greater than that of the silicon oxide and a negative oxide formation enthalpy value by the mechanochemical process or thermochemical reaction to reduce the silicon oxide to prepare the composite; and mixing the composite and the carbon material.

    • A negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery is provided to increase a contact area and binding force between a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode current collector. A negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery includes a negative electrode current collector(110), and a negative electrode active material layer(120) placed on at least one surface of the negative electrode current collector. The at least one surface of the negative electrode current collector has a surface roughness(Rz) of 2-7 micron.     • PURPOSE: An anode film for a lithium secondary battery is provided to improve cycle properties by preventing the expansion and reduction of a silicon volume during recharging and discharging process, and to improve the battery service life owing to its chemical and mechanical stability. CONSTITUTION: The anode film for a lithium secondary battery comprises a current collector and an anode active material layer formed on the upper side of the current collector, wherein the anode active material layer is comprised of a multiple layered film where a metal layer that is non-reactive to lithium but reactive to silicon, and a silicon layer are alternately layered. The anode film for a lithium secondary battery is produced by the steps of: (a) forming a film of a metal layer that is non-reactive to lithium but reactive to silicon, onto the current collector by deposition; (b) forming a film of a silicon layer over the metal layer; and (c) repeating the (a) or (b) step at least once to form a multiple layered film.
