    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly reduce the diameter of a stent without changing it in a length direction. SOLUTION: A wire material 210 is put around twice while being bent in a wave form in a peripheral direction to form the mesh pattern 221 of the first column, the terminating end is advanced along a knitting starting end part 222 and bent in the length direction at the first bend part 211a to form a first straight line part 331, the lower end of the straight line part 331 is bent and the mesh pattern 321 of the second column is formed. Then, the terminating end of the loop 312 of the second round of the mesh pattern 321 of the second column is advanced along the loop 212 of the second round of the mesh pattern 221 of the first column and a second straight line part 431 is formed at the bend part at a position shifted by a half pitch to the first straight line part 331. By the repetition of the mesh pattern, the stent 200A composed of the mesh patterns of a plurality of columns is formed. At the time of reducing the diameter of the stent 200A, since expansion in the length direction is suppressed by the respective straight line parts 331-731, lengths at the time of reducing the diameter and at the time of the expansion become almost the same. The portions B each curved into the U shape are entangled with the crosswise intersecting portions A with the curved tip portions B1 directed outward.
