    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image apparatus which can simultaneously provide the anatomical information and the molecular information on a biological tissue, and its method. SOLUTION: A first scanner and a second scanner are connected to a transportation rail and a receiving tray to fix a object to be examined is provided on the transportation rail. The transportation rail is designed in the manner that the same geometric reference point is maintained between the first scanner and the second scanner. Between the first scanner and the second scanner, an RF and magnetic field shield to shield the external RF and the magnetic field leaked from the first scanner and a magnetic field shield to shield the external magnetic field which influences the second scanner are provided. The object to be examined fixed on the receiving tray is moved along the transportation rail to the first scanner or to the second scanner. The RF and magnetic field shield and the magnetic field shield are synchronized with a position and a movement of the receiving tray to be controlled.     • There is provided a PET-MRI hybrid apparatus and method for integrating a PET image and an MRI image so that anatomical, hemodynamical and molecular information on human tissues are simultaneously presented in a single image. The PET-MRI hybrid system comprises a first scanner for obtaining anatomical and hemodynamical information, and a second scanner for obtaining molecular and functional information on the human tissues. Along a path between the first scanner and the second scanner, a transferring railway system which includes runs, and a movable bed for supporting a subject installed on the railway. The PET-MRI hybrid system also comprises a “RF+ magnetic” shield and a “magnetic” shield between path between the first scanner and the second scanner, which switch between an open status and a close status in a completely synchronized manner to assure a complete magnetic shield for the PET system at any given time.     • A magnetic resonance imaging system is provided, which can provide the homogeneous magnetic field to obtain a head anatomic image with a high resolution and high SNR by coaxially disposing a receive-only phased array antenna inside a transmit-only antenna with a predetermined gap, and thereby a detailed and accurate image of a man's head can be obtained. In the present invention, the system comprises: a transmit-only antenna comprising at least two saddle quadrature antennas connected with each other to form a ring shape, one of the connections being a joint and the remaining connections being formed in an overlapping fashion; and a receive-only phased array antenna comprising a plurality of receive-only antennas connected with each other to form a ring shape, one of the connections being a joint and the remaining connections being formed in an overlapping fashion, wherein an inner diameter of the receive-only phased array antenna is shorter than that of the transmit-only antenna, and the receive-only phased array antenna is coaxially disposed inside the transmit-only antenna with a predetermined gap.

    • A greatly reduced number of scintillation cyrstal/PMT gamma ray detectors are employed in a ring array about a PET image volume. Because of the relatively small number of such detectors, the complexity and expense of associated electronic signal processing channels is greatly reduced (even if each such channel is provided with sophisticated time of flight capabilities). Similarly, because relatively fewer crystals are employed, it becomes possible to use much larger and faster response time scintillation crystals so as to greatly increase gamma ray detection efficiency and scatter rejection while also permitting the electronic circuits to better reject random events and to provide effective time of flight image data filtering. By providing successively offset collimation apertures for each successive detector of the ring array and by rotating the array 360 degrees through a large number of successive view angle positions, it is nevertheless possible to acquire extremely high resolution image data with a greatly reduced system cost. A multiple aperture embodiment provides improved sensitivity by using associated light collimators and photodiodes in conjunction with slow coincidence steering circuits.

    • Embodiments of the present invention may provide a cradle transferring device, which moves and withdraws a cradle to and from an examination table of an MRI apparatus in a PET-MRI hybrid system. The cradle transferring device includes: a cradle, on which a subject lies; a shuttle table supporting the cradle and moving and withdrawing the cradle to and from the examination table of the MRI apparatus; and a cradle receiving member provided on the examination table of the MRI apparatus. The shuttle table is provided with a transfer member for holding and transferring the cradle and a transfer member driving means for reciprocating the transfer member along the shuttle table. The cradle transferring device is further provided with a cradle locking means, which locks the cradle to the examination table after the cradle is moved to the examination table. The cradle transferring device moves the cradle to the examination table of the MRI apparatus and accurately withdraws the cradle from the examination table of the MRI apparatus after the examination in the MRI apparatus.
