    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a cubic earthquake resistant structure at an unoccupied lot adjacent to an earthquake nonresistant structure, without being subjected to earthquake resistance and which is constructed of lumber, lightweight board, or the like, and to connect the earthquake resistant structure with the earthquake-nonresistant structure to impart earthquake resistance to the earthquake-nonresistant structure.
      SOLUTION: The cubic earthquake-resistant structure 3 is installed on the ground G, contacting the earthquake-nonresistant structure 1, with a slight gap 2 in between itself and the earthquake-nonresistant structure 1. Two connecting base plates 11, 11 with a toppled-H shape cross section formed by connecting a connecting plate 10 thereto at a right angle at the center of upper and lower plates 5, 6 have a slight gap 12. A plurality of connecting members 7, formed by allowing two hard rubber blocks 14a, 14b to be fitted in recesses 13a, 13b at both sides of respective connecting base plates 11, 11 across the gap 12, integrally connect the earthquake-nonresistant structure 1 with the earthquake-resistant structure 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart earthquake resistance to an existing house by installing an aseismatic structure of rectangular parallelepiped shape formed of shape steel members, in a vacant lot abutting on the existing house of non-aseismatic construction, and connecting and fixing the aseismatic structure to the existing house integrally through vibration damping rubber.
      SOLUTION: The aseismatic structure 2 of rectangular parallelepiped shape formed by connecting and fixing an upper frame member 3 and a bottom frame member 4 formed of shape steel members, by posts 5 is installed on the ground G abutting on the non-aseismatic existing house 1, and embedded and fixed into foundation concrete 7 in the ground G with the bottom frame member 4 as an underground beam so that the upper frame member 3 is in the same height position as a girth 6 constituting the existing house 1. The base ends of foundation piles 9 protrusively provided with large diameter plates 8 at the front parts are welded and fixed to the extension line lower faces of the respective posts 5 of the bottom frame member 3. The foundation piles 9 are buried in the ground G, while the upper frame member 3 and the facing girth 6 constituting the existing house 1 are integrally connected and fixed through the vibration damping rubber 10.
