    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pillow which in order to prevent during night a snorer from becoming a nuisance to persons sleeping nearby, is considered much so as to prevent snoring by filling the pillow (only a neck portion) with a cushion material for raising (or supporting) the neck.SOLUTION: By sewing the cushion material 2 to the neck-contact portions of cotton-containing portions 3 and 4 of the pillow, the neck is raised to incline a head backward (but, a space is required to be kept between the rear cotton-containing portions 3 and 4 of the cushion material) to prevent snoring.

    • In order to ensure that due to the nature of the evaporative cooling of the engine, the anti-freeze in the coolant does not concentrate in the coolant jacket leaving the coolant in the radiator diluted to the point of being susceptible to freezing in cold weather, a transfer conduit is connected with a cabin heating circuit at a location downstream of the heater circulation pump discharge port and arranged to transfer a portion of the pump discharge across to the radiator in a manner that the "distilled" condensate is blended with liquid coolant containing sufficient anti-freeze that the blending maintains an essentially uniform distribution of the anti-freeze throughout the system.

    • In order to (i) minimize the amount of liquid coolant reaching a condenser or radiator of an internal combustion engine or the like in which the coolant is permitted to boil and the vapor used as a vehicle for removing heat, and to (ii) simultaneously maintain the level of liquid coolant in the jacket above the combustion chambers, exhaust port and valves of the engine; a drain passage is provided between (a) the collection chamber of a manifold into which the vapor is discharged from the coolant jacket via manifold runners, and (b) the coolant jacket. This drain passage passage by-passes the runners and vapor discharge ports of the coolant jacket, connects with the coolant jacket at a level lower than the engine structure which is subject to high heat flux and houses a coolant level control sensor.

    • A polymer in the form of a novolac resin is provided wherein the novolac resin has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-30,000, some of the hydrogen atoms of hydroxyl groups are replaced by 1,2-naphthoquinonediazidosulfonyl ester groups, and some of the hydrogen atoms of the remaining hydroxyl groups are replaced by substituted acetal groups and/or crosslinked within a molecule or between molecules with crosslinking groups having C—O—C linkages. The polymer is formulated into a positive resist composition having improved uniformity, sensitivity, resolution and pattern profile as well as improved heat resistance, film retention, substrate adhesion and storage stability.
