    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional pet house which is simple, does not need a large space, is inexpensive and achieves a comfortable dwelling place for a pet and which is provided with fittings for treating the pet easily and comfortable to the pet.SOLUTION: A pet house includes: a drawer for housing the pet; a drawer for storing cold packs; and a sliding table for treating the pet. When the pet-housing drawer is pulled out, it can provide access to a pet dwelling space and can form a play space for the pet which is enclosed on three sides by a drawer front panel and drawer side panels. The drawer for storing cold packs has a ventilation construction and has a drawer bottom plate formed of a material which does not absorb water. The sliding table for treating the pet can be pulled out forward and used when the pet is treated. The pet can be treated on the table while it is cooled by the cold packs.

    • The present invention relates to a PFC switching power supply which can perform polarity determination and voltage detection of AC voltage without using a DC isolator such as a transformer.Included are: a power factor correction section which rectifies AC voltage inputted, outputs DC voltage to a load and corrects a power factor; an input voltage detecting section which outputs L pole detected voltage and N pole detected voltage; and a switching controller which controls the operation of the power factor correction section. An AC waveform generating section of the switching controller generates an AC waveform. The switching controller generates a drive pulse having a frequency and a duty ratio varying depending on AC waveform, whereby a predetermined level of the DC output of the power factor correction section is maintained and in addition, the power factor is corrected.

    • Methods and apparatus are disclosed for etching flexible glass sheets (13) in which the sheets (13) are transported in a near vertical orientation past non-contact, liquid-ejecting bearings (3) which apply an etching solution (e.g., an aqueous NaF/H3PO4 solution) to the sheets (13). In certain embodiments, the uppermost liquid-ejecting bearing (3) is above the top edge of the sheet (13) and thus is able to apply etching solution to the top of the sheet. In other embodiments, a top shower (11), which includes a set of spray nozzles (21) located above and distributed along the length of the apparatus, is used to apply etching solution to the top of the sheet (13). Using the disclosed methods and apparatus, glass sheets (13) produced by a fusion process are provided which have areas greater than five square meters and average surface roughness values in the range of 0.5 nanometers to 1.1 nanometers.
