A metallic spacer 23 surrounding the peripheral edge of the solid electrolyte 2 from the outside is sandwiched between the peripheral edges of the metal plates 21 and 22. A gap between the two metal plates 21 and 22 and both side surfaces of the peripheral edge 2a of the solid electrolyte 2 constitutes a maze for a fuel.
