The separator air, or gas, which may be heated, is supplid at 9. The grit separated in the separator 6 is supplied to the grinding chamber through a line 7. In a modification, Fig. 2, the mill is provided with a pre-separator 11 for separating coarse pieces of material which are returned, by means of pipes 14, to the centrifuging region or to a point of the separator line between the centrifuging region and the air inlet 9. The pre-separator comprises a break 12 in the separator line, which break is surrounded by a packet 13 and is adjustable by means of a telescopic tube 15.

    • There is disclosed a presettable tool supporting device for machine tools which permits the tool to be preset in its tool holder away from the machine and then quickly and easily mounted on the machine in an accurately predetermined position, thus eliminating the need for adjusting the tool on the machine. The disclosed tool supporting device generally comprises a tool holder having means for affixing a tool thereto, a base member having attaching means for semi-permanently attaching the base member to a machine tool, locating means preferably in the form of complementary corrugated surfaces engageable with one another when the tool holder is placed in engagement with the base member to locate each with the other along two major axes while permitting relative movement between the two along a third major axis, stop means for locating the tool holder with respect to the base member in a predetermined position along the third axis, and releasable locking means for detachably locking the tool holder to the base member in said predetermined position. Several embodiments are disclosed, including one in which the locking means is accessible from the side and another in which access is from the top, and a further one in which locating and locking is accomplished on a second set of axes in addition to the first set. Alternative stop means and locking means are also disclosed.

    • To provide an interactive video service, a system is disclosed comprising a video server (VOD), an integrated services digital network (ISDN), and customer premises equipment (END) with a video telephone (TEL). The video server (VOD) has a memory (MEMO) in which a number of video signals, e.g., newscasts, are stored, as well as a transmitting unit (SEN) and a receiving unit (EMP), by means of which it is connected with the video telephone (TEL) via the integrated services digital network (ISDN). Via the video telephone (TEL), the customer calls the video server (VOD) to establish a switched connection, and selects from among a number of video signals available. By means of a control unit (CTRL) in the video server (VOD), the selected video signal is read from the memory of the video server and transmitted in real time over the switched connection to the video telephone (TEL). The customer can release the connection at any time, whereby the transmission of the video signal is stoppped.

    • A guide for a mineral winning or loading machine, such as a coal plough, is composed of assemblies secured to the mineral face side of a conveyor. The assemblies have angle plates with upstanding wall portions securable to the side walls of the conveyor and integral foot portions supporting the machine and resting on the floor of the mine working. Spacers separating upper and lower passages for guiding a drive chain are in turn secured to the wall portions of the angle plates and these passages are shielded by cover plates formed with ramp-like inclined guide surfaces for the machine. The cover plates are pivoted to the spacers at their lower regions so that they can be pivoted outwards to allow access to the passages therebehind. The cover plates are locked with releasable devices to the wall portions in their closed position and have recesses accommodating the spacers which have inclined surfaces forming continuations of the guide surfaces of the cover plates.

    • A conveyor and guide assembly comprises a conveyor and a plough guide attached to one side of the conveyor. The conveyor comprises a plurality of conveyor sections joined end-to-end, and the guide comprises a plurality of guide sections positioned end-to-end. Each guide section is associated with, and extends substantially along, a corresponding conveyor section. The guide section has a generally L-shaped guide plate and a ramp-like cover plate which define therebetween upper and lower chain ducts for receiving a plough drive chain. Each section of the cover plate is curved over at the top towards the guide plate thereby delimiting the upper portion of the upper chain duct. Each adjacent pair of cover plate sections overlap in a first zone which extends over at least the curved-over portions thereof. Each pair of adjacent sections of the guide plate overlap in a second zone which adjoins said first zone. The gap between each pair of adjacent guide plate sections is longitudinally off-set from the corresponding gap between adjacent conveyor sections in a third zone which is adjacent to said second zone.
