A heat rejection heat exchanger (30) is coupled to the first and second compressors to receive refrigerant compressed by the compressors. The system includes an economizer for receiving refrigerant from the heat rejection heat exchanger and reducing an enthalpy of a first portion of the received refrigerant while increasing an enthalpy of a second portion. The second portion is returned to the compressor. The ejector (66) has a primary inlet (70) coupled to the means to receive a first flow of the reduced enthalpy refrigerant. The ejector has a secondary inlet (72) and an outlet (74). The outlet is coupled to the first compressor to return refrigerant to the first compressor. A first heat absorption heat exchanger (80) is coupled to the economizer to receive a second flow of the reduced enthalpy refrigerant and is upstream of the secondary inlet of the ejector. A second heat absorption heat exchanger (90) is between the outlet of the ejector and the first compressor.

Each heat exchange tube has a plurality of flow channels defining discrete flow paths extending longitudinally in parallel relationship from its inlet end to its outlet end. The inlet header has a channel for receiving a two-phase fluid from a fluid circuit and a chamber for collecting the fluid. The chamber has an inlet in flow communication with the channel and an outlet in flow communication with the plurality of fluid flow paths of the heat exchange tubes. The channel defines a relatively high turbulence flow passage that induces uniform mixing of the liquid phase refrigerant and the vapor phase fluid and reduces potential stratification of the vapor phase and the liquid phase within the fluid passing through the header.

摘要： A method and apparatus for promoting uniform refrigerant flow in a minichannel heat exchanger by providing a liquid-vapor separator between an expansion device and the inlet header such that the refrigerant vapor will pass directly to the compressor and only the liquid refrigerant will pass to the inlet header. The liquid-vapor separation is accomplished by way of a float valve which prevents the flow of liquid refrigerant to the compressor and the flow of refrigerant vapor from the outlet manifold, through the valve and back to the inlet manifold. A second float valve may be provided between a downstream end of the inlet manifold and the compressor for the purpose of removing any residual vapor from the liquid.
