摘要： A method for transferring a toner image on the surface of an image-bearing member obtained as a result of development with a conductive or semi-conductive toner material to the surface of a receptor member, which comprises bringing the surface of the receptor member into contact with the toner image on the surface of the image-bearing member and simultaneously applying a corona discharge to the back surface of the receptor member. The angle formed between the lines of electric force of the corona discharge and a line perpendicular to the receptor member does not exceed about 30 degrees.

摘要： An electrostatic copying apparatus has a housing having at its top surface a transparent plate on which to place an original to be copied, a rotary drum disposed within the housing and having a photosensitive member on its surface, a charging, a developing, a transferring and a cleaning mechanism which are successively arranged around the rotary drum in the moving direction of its surface, an optical system for projecting the image of the original onto the surface of the rotary drum between the charging means and the developing means, and a receptor sheet conveying system for transferring a receptor sheet through a transfer station defined between the surface of the rotary drum and the transferring mechanism. A support is mounted on the housing so that it is slidable in the forward and rearward directions between its operating position within the housing and its pulled-out position ahead of the housing, and the rotary drum and the developing device are mounted on the support so that they can be separately and independently detached from the support. An electrostatic copying process can be efficiently practiced by using this apparatus.

摘要： A cleaning method is provided for electrostatic copying apparatus of the transfer type in which a polarizable magnetic toner is used as a developer to remove residual toner from the surface of a photoconductive member after the transfer of toner images. The method comprises the steps of charging the toner remaining on the surface of the photoconductive member to the same polarity as the charge for sensitizing the surface of the photoconductive member after the transfer of a toner image, uniformly exposing the photoconductive surface simultaneously with or after the charging step, and thereafter removing the residual toner from the photoconductive surface by magnetic attraction.

摘要： A copying machine of the diazo type comprises a light exposure zone for exposing to light a diazo type photosensitive sheet superposed with an original, a development zone for developing the light exposed photosensitive sheet and a delivery mechanism for feeding the original and diazo type photosensitive sheet to the light exposure zone and forwarding the light exposed photosensitive sheet to the development zone. The light exposure zone includes a transparent cylinder capable of rotating while having a superposed assembly of the original and photosensitive sheet closely contacting the outer surface thereof and a heat-generating light source mounted in the interior of the transparent cylinder. The transparent cylinder has a fan for feeding cold air into the transparent cylinder from one end thereof and cooling the outer surface of the transparent cylinder substantially uniformly along the entire length thereof and a temperature-detecting mechanism thermoconductively contacting the outer surface of the transparent cylinder to detect the temperature of the outer surface. A temperature-controlling mechanism is provided to control the air feed rate of the fan in response to signals from the temperature detecting mechanism, to control the temperature of the outer surface of the transparent cylinder within a predetermined temperature range.

摘要： An electrophotographic plate for chargeless electrostatic printing and the method of making the same using a photoconductive material such as microcrystalline zinc oxide and a binder of suitable type with an organic acid such as citric, oxalic or malic and mixing the ingredients and applying them to a baseplate in the desired proportions to control the sensitivity of the electrophotographic plate to light and to control the recovery of memory effect so that the electrophotographic plate can be subject to ordinary light and still be usable for reproduction by being placed in the dark for a short period of time so that the recovery of the memory effect takes place and the electrophotographic plate can then be used for reproduction thereby greatly simplifying the storage of the electrophotographic plates and also greatly simplifying the manufacture thereof. The electrophotographic plate having a smooth glossy surface thereby preventing adherence of the toner to the nonimage areas.
