    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain uniform electric field processing by preventing the occurrence of leakage in an electric field processing region, and by preventing the occurrence of phenomena in which the electric intensity is significantly rapidly attenuated due to the leakage, and application of the electric field to the processed body is substantially deteriorated.SOLUTION: The electric field processing device includes three kinds of electrodes as one integrated device, that is, a vessel electrode which contains food on which electric field processing and heat processing are performed using weak current high voltage with homopolarity, an intermediate electrode which forms a non-contact layer or an insulating layer with the entire region of the outer circumference of the vessel electrode at substantially equal interval, and is provided in a shape for surrounding the vessel electrode, and an earth electrode which forms the non-contact layer with the entire region of the outer circumference of the intermediate electrode at substantially equal spacing, and is provided in the shape for surrounding the intermediate electrode. The electric field processing device performs the electric field processing and the heating processing to the food or the like.

    • A multilayer chip varistor comprises a multilayer body and a pair of external electrodes formed on the multilayer body. The multilayer body has a varistor section and a pair of outer layer sections disposed so as to interpose said varistor section. The varistor section comprises a varistor layer developing a voltage nonlinear characteristic and a pair of internal electrodes disposed so as to interpose the varistor layer. The relative dielectric constant of the outer layer sections is set lower than the relative dielectric constant of the region where the pair of internal electrodes in the varistor layer overlap each other.
