    • A casting box having at least one vacuum line connection through its floor is provided with a laminated insert plate which includes a resilient upper layer provided with one vacuum line opening for each slab, and which incorporates conduits extending from the openings to communication with the casting box floor.     • A tow cable assembly for an aircraft wherein a stand-off distance between the tow cable and the tail pipe is accomplished by a spacer member attached to a tube. A tow cable reel assembly is attached to the underside of the aircraft, and the tube is attached directly to the aft end of the reel assembly by a movable coupling. The tube shrouds the tow cable for the distance aft of the reel assembly and just forward of the jet tail pipe of the aircraft. The movable coupling attachment between the tube and the reel assembly allows the tube to rotate in horizontal and vertical planes and to follow the flight path of the tow cable. When the tow aircraft maneuvers in such a manner that the tube and tow cable are moved toward the tail pipe of the aircraft, the spacer member mounted on the tube engages the underside of the aircraft, just forward of the tail pipe, and provides a bridge between the tow cable and the tail pipe. In this manner, the tow cable is prevented from direct contact with the heated tail pipe.

    • An embodiment of the invention disclosed herein shows a twocompartment disseminator for generating aerosols of smoke, poisons, gases, and other lethal and non-lethal agents. One disseminator compartment houses the propellant and the other compartment houses the agent. These two compartments are coaxially disposed, and a tubular bulkhead separates these two compartments. Sonic nozzles are formed in this bulkhead. The gases generated by propellant combustion are vented through these nozzles at sonic velocity into passageways formed in the solid agent. The agent is eroded, finely atomized and vaporized by the gases and expelled through exit orifices. The vaporized agent now condenses into minute particles to form with the gas an aerosol having long-term effectiveness. Close control of agent concentrations and dissemination time is also achieved. The coaxial arrangement enables higher loading ratios of agent to propellant as compared to a tandem arrangement.

In a preferred method of manufacture, the support tube is positioned within a mold cavity having a configuration complementary with the external configuration of the rocket vehicle body. Foamed material is then introduced into the mold to form the vehicle body about the support tube.
