    • A connector (1) for rigidly connecting an osteosynthesis rod (2) to a bone anchoring screw (3), comprising a body (6) with a cylindrical bore (11) engageable by the rod (2) and a threaded hole (12) perpendicular to the bore (11), said hole (12) being engageable by a screw for connecting the rod (2) to the connector (1). Said connector (1) further comprises a portion (9) integral with the body (6) and extending sideways therefrom, a hole (14) for receiving a bone anchoring screw (3) being formed in said portion and provided with two parallel side surfaces (18a, 18b) extending on either side of the plane which passes through the axis of the bore (11) and is parallel to said side surfaces (18a, 18b). The connector can replace the various connecting parts used hitherto in the three lumbar, sacral and iliosacral fixations, thereby simplifying the equipment and considerably reducing its cost as well as its size.
