摘要： A golf practice apparatus, for guiding a golf-club (10) in short- swing strokes such as putting and chipping, consists of a support (13, 14) to which is attached a generally horizontal guide bar (12) approximately 35 cm above the ground and disposed so that a player can swing the club with the shaft thereof in sliding contact with a side of the guide bar remote from the player. The attitude of the guide bar is adjustable, and swing-limiting stops may be position-adjustable along the guide bar. The support means (13) in one embodiment is suitable for standing on a carpet surface, and in another embodiment is spiked for engaging a turf putting surface.

[Class 7 (iii)] In a carburetter in which interconnected valves control an air inlet and a mixture outlet, disposed at opposite ends of a body portion, and a variable fuel nozzle between them, the air inlet and mixture outlet are disposed at right angles to the flow of mixture through the body and their valves move longitudinally therein or thereon. A barrel throttle valve 13 and a sliding air valve 6 adjustably connected together by rods 22 control respectively the outlet of mixture and inlet of air to a cylindrical casing 1 having diametrically across it a fuel nozzle 32 provided with a discharge orifice 36. A rotatable sleeve 7 within the casing determines the maximum size of the air inlet port 4, and may close it for starting. One side of the port 4 is curved to ensure a proper air-fuel ratio at all throttle openings. The throttle valve 13 works in a sleeve 25 having oppositely arranged openings 29, 30 governing the maximum throttle opening and the admission of secondary air through a port 31 in the casing 1. The air valve 6 is coupled to a plate 43 mounted on the rods 22 and provided with holes 47 for the reception of two pins 42. These pins engage levers 40, 38 mounted respectively on a sleeve 37 screwed on the top of the nozzle tube 32 and an outer sleeve 39 screwed, with an opposite thread, on the sleeve 37. The sleeve 39 supports the fuel needle valve which is lifted by the operation of the threaded sleeves when the levers 38, 40 are rotated by movement of the plate 43. An eccentric may be associated with the air inlet sleeve 7 to displace the plate 43 and provide additional fuel at starting.

摘要： The morphology of a coating of an oxyfluoride of cerium on a conductive substrate is improved by addition of tantalum, niobium and/or other pentavalent metals. Whereas a cerium oxyfluoride coating shows cracks which may extend throughout the entire thickness of the coating, thus exposing finite portions of the substrate to corrosive attack, the pentavalent-doped coating has a substantially impervious structure. In addition to improvement of the coating morphology, the electrical conductivity is increased. The pentavalent-doped cerium oxyfluroride can be produced by electrodeposition or sintering. Coatings, substrates or bodies of this material may be employed as non-consumable anodes in molten aluminum electrowinning cells, as chemical sensors, or for corrosion protection and other application.

A catamaran comprises a pontoon member 12 (Figs. not shown), a crossboard 18, said crossboard having attached to its ends ski members 14, 16, a pair of foot pockets 58 positioned on said crossboard on either side of the pontoon member, motor means 22 carried by the pontoon member and handle means 24 secured to the motor,said handle means including a handle portion 132 disposed for gripping when the operator stands in the pockets 58. As shown, when in position, the operator stands with his feet in pockets 58, inside a loop formed by the handle 132. The handle when moved, rotates the outboard motor for steering purposes when the craft is running at slow speeds. When running at fast speeds the pontoon member 12 planes and sinks at the stern, bringing the skis 14, 16 into contact with the water. Steering at high speeds is effected by the operator transfering his weight to the appropriate side of the pontoon A receptacle 140 for receiving a fuel container 142 is positioned on the crossboard.

Operation of the releasing device may also unbolt a door which is thereupon opened by a weight or spring. The bolts for cattle may be arranged to need a greater movement before releasing the animal than those for horses. The bolts may be moved individually by means of finger pieces 28.

摘要： A device for scraping adhered material from the return side of a belt conveyor comprises a scraper blade (1) held between two rollers (2) to which torsion is applied to keep the blade in constant contact with the belt. Guide Plates (4) may be provided to keep the scraper blade in position. The means of applying torsion to the roller or rollers may be equipped with a ratchet to facilitate setting blade pressure, feeding in the blade initially, and to compensate for blade wear. This ratchet may be reversible to facilitate removal of the scraper blade.
