摘要： A three wheeled vehicle has two wheels (16) in front with front wheel drive, and a single rear wheel (28) and rear wheel steering. A steering linkage (30,38,40,76,78,58) causes the vehicle to steer with directionally conventional response to a steering wheel input (26). A rear axle assembly (112) (see Figure 3A) provides uncomplicated construction accommodating both the steering link (58) and a spring (96) and shock absorber (118) type suspension. The axle (112) moves vertically within inner tube (92) and is constrained against rotation by rods (114,104). The inner tube (92) is coupled to steering arm (58) and rotates within outer tube (60).

摘要： An air cycle conditioning system which in one mode of operation delivers a flow of low temperature air for cooling an enclosure and in another mode of operation delivers a flow of high temperature air for heating the enclosure, comprises primary heat exchanger having first air flow passages disposed in heat exchange relationship with second air flow passages, an air compressor connected for supplying air to the first airflow passages, an air expansion turbine connected for receiving air from the first airflow passages, an inlet duct connected for supplying air to the second airflow passages, an outlet duct connected for receiving air from the second airflow passages, a first airflow directional control valve connected with an outlet from the turbine means and second airflow directional control valve connected with the outlet duct, the first valve being movable between a position in which the turbine outlet is communicated with the enclosure in the cooling mode and a position in which the turbine outlet is communicated with ambient atmosphere in the heating mode, and the second valve being movable between a position in which the outlet duct is communicated with ambient atmosphere in the cooling mode and a position in which the outlet duct is communicated with the enclosure in the heating mode.

摘要： A single-use syringe having a needle which retracts upon a full depression of its plunger and thus, renders the syringe non-reusable. The plunger selectively engages the barrel of the syringe so as to limit the withdraw of the plunger relative to the barrel. The barrel has formations extending therefrom which selectively and matingly engage formations extending from the plunger so as to selectively limit the travel of the plunger relative to the needle and retract the needle into a concealed position. The nose of the barrel carries a split ring which is contractible to permit a rearward displacement of the barrel and the needle attached thereto relative to the stationary housing upon a full depression of the plunger. The travel of the barrel relative to the stationary body is terminated by dogs located proximate the forward end of the nose which are engageable with the notches in the stationary housing upon the rearward displacement of the barrel relative to the stationary housing. A cap may be provided for sheathing the needle prior to use.

摘要： The GAI gene of Arabidopsis thaliana has been cloned, along with mutant and homologue gene sequences. Expression of such genes in plants affects characteristics of the plants including growth. GAI expression inhibits growth of plants, which inhibition is antagonised by gibberellin (GA). Expression of gai mutants confers a dwarf phenotype which is GA-insensitive. Manipulation of expression of GAI and gai genes in plants results in tall or dwarfed plants. Dwarf plants are useful in particular for reduction in crop losses resulting from lodging.
