Scaffolding more particularly for use in building concrete cooling turners comprises vertical frames having side members 6, 7 braced together by members 8-10 and having horizontal members 12, 13 for scaffold boards, the frames standing out from the wall on which they are supported by horizontal tubes 2. The frames are connected in pairs forming with tubes 2 triangles in plan, Fig. 2, and one frame of each pair is secured to the tubes 2 in a higher position than the other frame so that while the scaffold planks are supported on the higher frames the lower frames can be raised till they are the higher frames and in this way the scaffolding climbs as the structure increases in height. The tubes 2 are secured by bolts 3 passing through the wall and wedges 5.

Shuttering for concrete walls, more particularly walls of structures such as a cooling tower wherein the perimeter of the wall varies gradually as the height increases, comprises rectangular panels 11 retained in position by vertical members 1 supported solely by a previously built part of the wall 7, a gap between adjacent vertical edges of neighbouring panels 11 being filled by sheet metal strips 2 running the length of the inner faces of the vertical members and overlapping the inner faces of the panels 11, thus enabling the horizontal distance between neighbouring vertical members to vary as required by the shape of the structure. The strips 2 may be bent slightly in plan, Fig. 2, to be tangential to the curvature of the wall at the centre of the panels 11. The shuttering of a lift being concreted, is supported by the shuttering immediately below, which is left in place for this purpose, the vertical members of two such stages of shuttering being joined by a cleat 4 which permits the vertical members to be set at a small angle as seen in side view to enable the wall to curve in vertical profile. The lower edge of a panel 11 of a lift being concreted, is supported by the upper edge of a panel 11 immediately below and is located thereon by an upwardly projecting horizontal cleat 12 which is provided along the upper edge of each panel. The upper edges of the panels 11 of the lift being concreted, are held in place by wedges 14 driven downwards between the cleats 12 and crosspieces 9 secured to the vertical members 1. The shuttering may be used on both sides of the wall with the bolts 8 passing through vertical members 1 on opposite sides of the wall and through precast concrete distance pieces 10. The shuttering may be used on only one face of the wall. As an alternative to providing precast concrete distance pieces 10 the vertical members 1 on both sides of the wall may have cleats or vertical extensions bolted to them and be held apart in any suitable way. An alternative form of panel can be formed of vertical boards held together by the cleat 12 along the top and by a second horizontal cleat a short distance from the bottom. When the diameter of the tower decreases sufficiently, these cleats can be sawn through and a board removed.

[Also in Group XXV] A bolt anchorage which provides a temporary fixing in a concrete surface for shuttering, or which provides a support for scaffolding, comprises a substantially right angled hook having a shank 1 and a tapered turned up portion 2 engageable behind a bar 7, set in the concrete, and a wedge shaped block 13 in contact with the shank 1 of the hook on that side towards which the hook must be turned to disengage it from the bar .7, the block having a facing 16 of resilient material, e.g., rubber, on at least one surface enabling the block to yield slightly in the concrete so that the block may be extracted from the concrete and the hook removed. The bar 7 may be a reinforcing bar in the concrete, or a short length of bar placed in the concrete specially for the purpose.

摘要： Substantially pure dimers of Apolipoprotein AI-Milano (APO-AI-M/APO AI-M) were isolated from plasma and characterized. Apolipoprotein AI-M dimer can also be produced in a recombinant Escherichia coli system. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the ApoAI-AI-M/ApoAI-M are described. Patients with atherosclerosis or cardiovascular diseases can be treated with the dimer. Medicaments containing the dimer can also be used to prevent thrombosis in different clinical circumstances, both at the arterial and at the venous level. The dimer can also act as a prodrug for the monomer.
