摘要： A medical injector is provided herein which includes first and second body portions rotatabiy coupled together; a displaceable plunger disposed in at least one of the first and second body portions: a spring disposed to advance the plunger; and, a releasable retainer for retaining the plunger in a first portion against force of the spring. The releasable retainer releases the plunger upon a predetermined extent of relative rotation between the first and second body portions, thus allowing the spring to advance the plunger. Advantageously, the subject invention provides a medical injector having an automated plunger drive which is triggered upon rotation of injector body portions, thereby minimizing premature or failed activations.

摘要： A medical injector is provided herein which includes first and second body portions each having a longitudinal axis and configured to couple at a coupling. The first and second body portions are complementarily formed so as to be movable about the coupling. The medical injector also includes an axially-displaceable plunger; biasing element for advancing the plunger a predetermined distance; and, a releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a first state against the force of the biasing element. In an initial state, the axes of the first and second body portions are not aligned and the plunger is in the first state. In a coupled state, the axes of the first and second body portions are axially aligned, and the releasable retainer releases the plunger, thereby allowing the biasing element to advance the plunger the predetermined distance. Advantageously, the subject invention provides a medical injector having an automated plunger drive which is triggered upon assembly of the pen injector, thereby minimizing premature or failed activations.

摘要： A medical injector is provided herein having a body; a reservoir containing first and second mixable components, a stopper associated with the reservoir, a predetermined extent of advancement of the stopper causing mixing of the first and second mixable components; a displaceable plunger disposed in the body; a spring disposed to advance the plunger; a first releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a first state against force of the spring; a first trigger for causing the first releasable retainer to release the plunger; a second releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a second state against force of the spring; and, a second trigger for causing the second releasable retainer to release the plunger. The spring causes the plunger to advance from the first state to the second state. The plunger engages the stopper during the advancement from the first state to the second state so that the stopper traverses at least the predetermined extent of advancement thereby causing mixing of the first and second mixable components. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a medical injector is provided which allows for auto reconstitution with subsequent dose setting and auto plunger activation, the auto reconstitution and the auto plunger activations being activated by separate triggers.

摘要： With the subject invention, a container for an injection device with an injection needle is provided. The container includes a body having a compartment formed therein to accommodate the injection device in both a pre-use and a post-use condition. The body defines a first opening through which the injection device in its pre-use condition may be accessed, and the body defines a second opening into which the injection device may be directed in its post-use condition. A closure is provided for closing the first opening. The container also includes a retainer proximate the second opening for retaining the injection device in the container in its post-use condition preventing access to the injection needle after the injection device has been used to administer an injection. Advantageously, the container of the subject invention may accommodate an injection device both before and after use thereby providing not only a pre-use packaging for the injection device, but also a post-use sharps container for the injection device.
