    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toe pad which is mounted to permit the respective fingers of the toe to independently move and certainly adapted to the shape of a user's foot and the size of the user's toe.
      SOLUTION: A flexible stringy member 2 is allowed to pierce through the pad main bodies 1a-1d held between the fingers of the toe to connect them so as to make the pad main bodies 1a-1d movable along the stringy member 2. When a user expands and contracts the fingers of the toe or walks in a room with the toe part mounted, the respective fingers of the toe are allowed to independently move with the joints of the fingers of the toe properly opened. Accordingly, the effective motion of the fingers of the toe can be performed to achieve the enhancement of the strength of user's legs and the acceleration of the blood circulation of user's foot.

    • An internal-combustion-engine automatic stop and restart system performs restarting control by making the pinion pushing unit push out the pinion gear so as to engage with the ring gear, when the restarting condition is satisfied in a time period from a time when the automatic stopping condition is satisfied to a time when the rotation of the internal combustion engine stops. A throttle valve control unit opens the throttle valve even when the restarting condition has not been satisfied and stops control of the throttle valve in a time period from when the rotation of the internal combustion engine stops to when the restarting condition is satisfied, when the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine becomes lower than a predetermined value in a time period from when the automatic stopping condition is satisfied to when the rotation of the internal combustion engine stops.

    • A control device of a transmission is capable of instantaneously correcting a torque shortly after starting a motor, and properly correcting a gear operation shortly after starting (at transient time) even in case of coil temperature change. The device includes a gear change end determination unit, a motor stop determination unit, and a coil resistance estimation unit of estimating a coil resistance of the motor alternately by repeating at regular intervals a state of application of a predetermined voltage to the motor during stop before start of gear change and a state of no application; and when the motor is determined stop by the determination units, an initial value of a command voltage to be applied to the motor after start of gear change is corrected in a predetermined time period in accordance with a coil resistance value having been calculated by the coil resistance estimation unit.

    • Portability of an electronic device with a semiconductor card is improved. The semiconductor card is insertable to a card slot in an electronic device, can engage a card socket formed inside the card slot, and has a base part and an expansion part. The base part has a terminal part and a first connection unit, and engages the card socket with the terminal part. The expansion part has a second connection unit, and can be moved between two positions when the second connection unit is connected to the first connection unit, a closed position where the expansion part is overlapping and substantially parallel to the base part, and an open position where the expansion part is extended at an angle greater than a perpendicular with respect to the base part. When the expansion part is in the closed position and the terminal part is engaged in the card socket, the expansion part and the base part are inserted to the card slot. When in the open position with the terminal part engaged in the card socket, the base part is inserted to the card slot and part of the expansion part protrudes from the card slot.
