摘要： An expression vector containing both of a DNA coding for L-sorbose dehydrogenase and a DNA coding for L-sorbosone dehydrogenase; a transformant capable of producing 2-keto-L-gulonic acid (2KLGA) from D-sorbitol in a high yield and prepared by transforming with the above vector a microorganism which produces L-sorbose from D-sorbitol in a high yield and which has no or little activity of decomposing 2KLGA, or such a microorganism which has, in addition, no or little activity of producing L-idonic acid; and a process for producing 2KLGA by culturing the transformant in a medium containing D-sorbitol. The invention process enables 2KLGA useful for producing L-ascorbic acid to be produced readily in a large amount at a good efficiency by single culture.

摘要： PURPOSE:To show an incense burner in golden light to provide a more solemn atmosphere by lighting lamps within an illuminated space, and radiating reflected light outside through a transparency. CONSTITUTION:This incense burner 1 comprises an incense burner main body 2, an inner container 3 fitted into the incense burner main body 2, and a pair of lamps 4 installed inside the incense burner main body 2. Ash and an ignitor are put in an ignitor--holding recess 6 in the inner container 3, so that incense can be burned as in conventional incense burners. When the lamps 4 inside an illuminated space 7 are turned on, the light of the lamps 4 is reflected by the gold-plated inner container 3, and the golden reflected light is radiated outside through a transparency 5. The reflected light makes the incense burner 1 look as if wrapped in golden light, thus creating a solemn atmosphere. Also, the incense burner 1 can be used as a visual sign to indicate the timing of burning incense, so that, in a funeral, the lamps 4 turned off are turned on to coincide with the start of incense burning.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a linear band-like burnt look pattern efficiently onto a surface of a body to be burnt by a method wherein a plurality of U-shaped tubular heaters capable of heating locally directly are arranged vertically to an under part of an electric branding iron principal body having a handle. SOLUTION: A plurality of U-shaped tubular heaters 3 capable of heating locally directly are vertically arranged in parallel to a lower part of an electric branding iron principal body 1 having a handle, and by heating an electric resistant wire of the U-shaped tubular heater 3 by introduction of electricity from outside via an electric power source cord 4, the heat of the electric resistant wire can be directly transmitted to a bottom part of the U-shaped tube. Since heat loss in the middle between the heater part and a printing part is none at all thereby, the bottom part of the U-shaped tube corresponding to the printing part can be efficiently quickly heated with a small heat source. Consequently, raising a temperature of the printing part to high temperature becomes easy, and a brand surface of the body to be burnt can be carbonized. Therefore, a printing surface can be easily cleaned, a damage is reduced, continuous operation can be carried out, branding efficiency is improved, etc., such the practical effects are made conspicuous.
