    • A system for repeatedly processing, in a production run, a set of original images to form in each case a following copy set each in accordance with a following copy set specification. In a first embodiment, for this purpose the printing system is provided with means for preprogramming a number of copy set specifications and selection means for making a selection from the preprogrammed copy set specifications. After the inputting of a set of original images and activation of a start button, this selection is then carried out on the set of original images without further intervention by the operator. In a second embodiment, the printing system is adapted to set a series of values for each print parameter in respect of one or more print parameters to be set, a following value being applicable in each case to a following required copy set.

    • Digital image data containing binary pixel values are reproduced, without any loss of detail, by a reproduction unit, such as a laser printer, having a lower base resolution than the resolution of the image data, by subjecting the image data to a resolution conversion, the resolution being reduced in one direction (to a value corresponding to the resolution of the reproduction unit) and enlarged in the other direction. Use is made of the fact that in many reproduction units the resolution can be increased in one direction by increasing the control frequency. The resolution conversion is carried out by means of direct one-to-one transfer of pixel values from the original pixels to the new pixels or by means of a table containing a pattern of reproduction pixels for each pattern of original pixels. The patterns of reproduction pixels in the table are so selected that on reproduction thereof flattening occurs in the reproduction system. This gives an apparently increased reproduction resolution.

    • A digital copying/printing machine by means of which a set of images can be assembled from document images input in separate actions. This set can then be printed as a whole. Document images can be input by means of a scanner (physical documents) or via a connection to a digital environment, such as a network (digital document images). For digital document images a storage unit is provided in which different images can be stored and which is provided with a selection function for selecting the required image for inclusion in the set. A separate input key is provided on the operating panel for starting inputting actions. Individual adjustments for the printed product can be made for each input action, e.g. for lighter or darker or single or double-sided printing. An image thus input is included in a set file in the memory of the machine. In response to actuation of a print key on the operating panel the entire set file is printed.

    • An optical adjustment arrangement for a scanning system comprises a main part (21;22) having defined thereon a triangle with a center point (29; 32) and first and second base points (27, 28; 30, 31).
