By measuring the photographic densities through the gray scales ant the tones through the color patches, objective data relating to the densities and tones of the ordinary photographic images are obtained independent of personal perception. This device may be used as a photomechanical process for making original photographs having desired gradations and tones by carrying out color separations and halftone photography and the like based on said objective data.
