    • A chamber (23) for introducing a gas into first and second fluidized-bed reactors (4, 5) in which pulverized iron oxide charged therein is reduced and carbonized with a high-temperature high-pressure gas blown thereinto from the reactor bottom, a dispersion plate (27) having a plurality of gas introduction nozzles (28), partitions (26) for dividing a fluidized bed (22) into a plurality of chambers, and gas supply parts (25a, 25b) in the chamber (23) for introducing a gas into predetermined chambers separately. Pipes for supplying the gas to the gas supply ports are connected thereto, and valves for regulating the pressure or flow rate of the gas are provided in these pipes. A gas circulating unit for supplying the gas to the chamber (23) again through quench towers (10a, 10b) and coolers (12a, 12b) in which the gas sent out from the fluidized-bed reactor is subjected to the removal of dust and the reduction of the quantity of vapor, and preheaters (15a, 15b), in which the gas is heated is provided. In the system thus constructed, the pulverized iron oxide charged in the fluidized-bed reactors (4, 5) through their sides is floated and fluidized by a high-temperature and high-pressure gas blown thereinto through the reactor bottoms, and sent in order from an upstream side chamber to a downstream side chamber via communication ports provided in the upper or lower portions of the partition walls in the fluidized bed. During this time, the pulverized iron oxide contacts and reacts with the gas and turns into iron carbide, which is discharged from the last chamber.
