A gasified component generated by the heating is deposited on a substrate heated to >=700 deg.C.

      CONSTITUTION: An aromatic high polymer which has large amounts of components to be gasified on pyrolysis such as polyparaphenylene oxide, polyparaphenylene sulfide, polycarbonate or phenolic resin is used to coat the support base such as a plate of carbon, silicon, alumina, silicon carbide or boron nitride in the form of a solution and dried. A film of the high polymer may be held between the support bases. Then, the coated bases are heated in an inert atmosphere or under vacuum over 700°C to deposit the carbon formed on the base.
