    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rain she cover with an open sole part for the purpose of maintaining athletic performance in rainy weather.SOLUTION: The sole part of an integrated type vinyl cover covering from a sock to a shoe is open, wherein a portion equal to the circumference of a sole is designed to cope with an individual shoe size by using expandable rubber. Adhesion of the shoe to the cover is performed by an adhesive material or an adhesive matter (such as a double-sided tape), and the adhesion part is prepared to the circumference of the sole in the same manner as above. Also, a part in contact with a sock is made to produce a fit feeling by applying several pieces of the expandable rubber to the part, and resistance by a wind can be prevented. As a result, the rain shoe cover is completed, in which a function as the conventional rain shoe cover in rainy weather and a function for maintaining athletic performance are merged.

    • An apparatus for driving an optical pickup for a tracking servo control. The apparatus includes an emitting device disposed in the optical pickup for emitting a main beam to a first position on an information track of a recording medium and emitting at least two subsidiary beams to a second position and a third position on the information track of the recording medium, respectively. The positions of the main beam and the subsidiary beams are determined appropriately for a three beam method. The apparatus further includes: a tracking error signal generating device for generating a tracking error signal using returned light beams of the subsidiary beams from the recording medium; a driving device for moving the first position of the main beam and the second position and the third position of the subsidiary beams with respect to the recording medium; a tracking control device for outputting a driving signal based on the tracking error signal to the driving device; and a detecting device for detecting a damaged part on the recording medium. The tracking control device generates a pulse signal having a polarity opposite to a disturbance part of the driving signal generated due to at least one of the subsidiary beams passing on the damaged part, and uses this pulse signal as a part of the driving signal.

    • Disclosed is a data processing apparatus that has two or more internal SCSI devices, to include a SCSI controller, that can also accommodate eternal SCSI devices via a port connector and that can manage the ID numbers (identification numbers) of the internal SCSI devices separately from all the other SCSI devices without requiring any action by a user; and a method for controlling such a data processing apparatus. According to the present invention, ID numbers can be written into internal SCSI devices. ID numbers that do not collide with the ID numbers of the externally connected SCSI devices are assigned to the respective internal SCSI devices. The system can automatically write the ID numbers during the booting process or when the system configuration is physically changed. Even when there are SCSI hard disk drives installed both inside and outside the system, the ID numbers of the SCSI hard disk drives that are internally positioned can be read so that the internal SCSI hard disk drives can be designated. When a system enters into a hibernation mode because the remaining capacity of a battery falls low, an internal SCSI hard disk can be designated as a hibernation target to which a hibernation file is saved.
