    • A motorizable swivel truck for rail vehicles, especially streetcars, having a truck frame on which a cradle frame lying transversely of the direction of travel is supported by at least one coil spring, and the car body rests upon the cradle frame through a support means which permits wide swiveling of the swivel truck. The coil truck frame consists of two longitudinal members having a generally underslung configuration and whose middle portion has a level lower than the level of either end of each longitudinal member. The longitudinal members have end portions which have a closed profile while the middle portion has an open profile. The swivel truck frame comprises two cross members which are disposed between the wheel axles and may also have a cross-sectional open profile. The ends of the cross-sectional members are connected to the longitudinal members suitably by being welded to the same. Owing to the underslung and arched configurations and the specific construction the swivel truck frame is flexible so that the wheel bearings may be mounted with stiff springing of the end portions of the longitudinal members. The device can also have a motor or pair of motors suspended on the cross members in such a manner that the drive shaft of the motors lies parallel to the direction of travel, the driving of the wheel axles being performed through a bevel or spur gear transmission.

    • A railroad-vehicle truck with a frame that yields under torsion and consists of transoms (2) and side frames bars (1) welded into an H. The transoms (2) are positioned such that the planes that the transom webs (2k) lie in intersect at one line (S7), which lies between the flanges (21) of the transoms. Each of the flanges of the transoms are fastened to one of the upper and lower flanges on the depressed middle section of the side frame. Helical compression springs are positioned on the upper flanges of the depressed section, with a bolster on the springs, and load dependent side bearings between the compression springs and the bolster. The side frames are resistant to torque over their total length, but the transoms yield under torque. Thus the truck has sufficient corner rigidity and prevents high material stresses caused by torque.

    • A suspension device for a door leaf of a swing out sliding door of a vehicle comprising a horizontal, fixed suspending member, a frame movable along the fixed suspending member and a swing arm connected to the frame for movement therewith. The swing arm is pivotably connected to the frame by a first hinge and the door leaf is connected by a second hinge to the swing arm. A roller is connected to the swing arm and is rollably supported in a fixed rail and a guide arm pivotably connected to the door leaf carries a third hinge pivotably connecting the guide arm to the frame. The fixed rail includes a curved end portion which controls movement of the roller to cause the door leaf to displace radially as the roller travels to and from the curved end portion.

    • A rail vehicle, especially a passenger train car for high-speed trains provided with air springs associated with each swivel truck in symmetry with the longitudinal central plane, their distance from center to center being so much smaller than the track gauge of the wheels that, if one air spring bellows fails, the weight of the car body will be distributed to the wheels in such a manner that the unloading of the wheels on the one side will not be such as to create the danger of derailment. To stabilize the car body the latter is joined to the swivel truck frame by a resilient linkage which permits vertical movements of the car body but opposes any lateral tilt of the car body by means of a resilient force. The resilient linkage is able to cause the car body to tilt towards the inside of curves when the car is negotiating curves. The swivel truck can be designed either as a driving or as a non-driving truck.
