摘要： Disclosed are substantially clear nutritional liquids comprising protein and calcium HMB wherein soluble protein represents from about 65% to 100% by weight of total protein. The liquids have a pH of from about 2.8 to about 4.6 and may be manufactured as a hot fill product. The substantially clear nutritional liquids may also have a weight ratio of calcium HMB to soluble calcium of from 4.5:1 to 7.3:1. In some embodiments, the substantially clear nutritional liquids are substantially free of fat, and may optionally include isomaltulose and/or beta alanine.

The composition provides a selected ratio of curcuminoids having improved biological activity, bioavailability, and reduced color impact.

摘要： Disclosed are human milk fortifier compositions, in either powder or liquid forms, comprising nutrients and selected iron-containing materials, wherein the fortifiers when added to human milk do not significantly inhibit or otherwise eliminate the inherent, in-vitro antimicrobial properties of the milk. This is accomplished by formulating the compositions with iron-containing insoluble iron, soluble bound iron, or combinations thereof, with little or no soluble unbound iron. Also disclosed are methods of providing nutrition to infants, especially preterm infants, by adding the human milk fortifier described herein with human milk to form a fortified human milk, and then administering the fortified human milk to the infant. The fortifier can also be used to fortify other infant formulas.

The methods include utilizing ultrasonic energy in the extruder during manufacturing. The application of ultrasonic energy to the extruder allows the fat globules present in raw materials to be effectively emulsified by hydrated protein present in the feed stream such that the resulting powdered extruded product has a low free fat level, is less susceptible to oxidation and rancidity, and can be reconstituted without substantial fat separation.
