    • A device (1) for storage and conveyance of thermal energy for an energy production system, which device (1) is apt to receive the solar radiation and is based on the use of a modular fluidizable granular bed and a heat exchanger associated thereto. The modular fluidization allows the selective storage of heat or thermal transfer to the exchanger. At the basis of such use, there are the favorable features of thermal exchange of the fluidized beds and the effective convective conveyance of the heat subsequent to the mobility of the granular phase. Both these features are linked to the possibility of imparting a rheological behavior to a granular solid that is comparable to that of a fluid, actually thanks to the fluidization thereof. Such device mainly comprises: - a containment casing (2) provided with one or more cavities receiving the solar radiation (20); - a fluidizable bed of granular particles (3) suitable for thermal energy storage and conveyance, arranged inside the containment casing (2); - one feed inlet for feeding a fluidization gas through the bed (3) of particles by a suitable distributor (21); - a heat exchanger (4) immersed in the fluidizable granular bed and crossed by a working fluid; and - a feeding inlet for a fuel gas (401) as additional thermal input to increase the system management flexibility.

    • The present invention relates to a treatment for reactivating light ashes, obtained from the combustion of fossil fuels or from the co-combustion therewith of CDR or biomasses inside dust phase boilers. The light ashes conveyed by the combustion fumes and kept by electrostatic precipitators or by baghouse filters are extracted therefrom and sent to the integrated system allowing the reactivation thereof with respect to the post-combustion, before being made to recirculate in the combustion chamber through the boiler burners. Said reactivation treatment of the ashes is obtained by making them to transit inside an accumulation system in contact with air at a suitable temperature and for a determined time period, so as to obtain the chemisorption of the oxygen available in the gaseous current by the carbon of the unburnt portion. The integrated system allows reducing the percentage of unburnt matter in the light ashes and transforming them from waste into raw material which can be re-used in the cement and concrete industry.

    • The present invention relates to a system for extracting and recovering energy for large for large flows of heavy ashes produced by solid fuel boilers, able to decrease the final temperature of the extracted ash without increasing the air flow entering the boiler flue, usually fixed by the boiler designers at a value around 1.5% of the total combustion air. When the air flow needed to the cooling exceeds the maximum quantity allowable in the boiler, the system allows the exceeding air and the possible vapour to be sent to the air inletting duct entering the air/fume exchanger on the air side, thanks to a separation of the cooling environments made by the ash itself. The separation of the environments of the cooling system is handled automatically based upon a temperature signal of the ash to the discharge from the system. If the cooling air is not sufficient to cool down the ash, the cooling efficiency can be increased by the addition of nebulised water.

If the cooling air is not sufficient to cool the ash, the cooling efficiency can be increased by adding atomized water. The added water flow usually is dosed based upon the ash flow and temperature so as to guarantee the full evaporation of the injected water in order to obtain at the exhaust, if necessary, dry ash suitable to be ground and transported pneumatically so as to be mixed to lighter ashes.

    • The present invention relates to a cooling system for dry extraction of heavy bottom ash output from furnaces for solid fuel during storing step at hopper, characterized by suitable air intakes (2), placed on the sidewalls of the hopper (1) at the hopper bottom, through which a controlled amount of cooling air passes sucked up in the combustion chamber (12) by the depression value therein, capable to achieve an uniform and balanced distribution system for such air during storing step at hopper (1) which optimizes the cooling of the falling ash, leaving the total amount of the air entering the furnace unchanged. The distribution header of the intakes (2) is connected to the extractor environment (6) by the lid (7) through a suitable conduit (3) provided with automated valve (8) being open during the storing step allowing the cooling air through to pass said intakes (2) placed on the sidewalls of the hopper (1). A more efficient cooling may be obtained by any addition of water input by nozzles (14) suitably placed within the hopper (1). The water amount may be adjusted such that the ash cooling improvement function is actuated without humidifying it.
